INCLUSIVE Workplaces. TRANSFORMED Individuals.

Momentum Collaborative (formerly known as TMC) was established in 2018 by two Black, Queer therapists as an organizational change management firm focused on anti-racist, diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility initiatives. The aim of our work is not only more equitable, inclusive organizations, but individual transformation as well.

“We have made structural, cultural, procedural and leadership changes that simply would not have been possible (let alone actioned) without Momentum. I am more optimistic about our future success, and the lived environment we can deliver for our staff and extended community, than I have ever been.”

Courtney Buechert / CEO / Eleven

Empowering Organizations

Momentum Collaborative empowers organizations through a holistic strategy that benefits staff, clients, and the bottom line. We lead a process that integrates strategic visioning, organizational development, coaching, wellness, and content learning within the context of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA).

Rather than doling out a prescriptive program, we stay flexible, pivoting as client needs arise in real time. We use a relational, empathetic approach that allows for honest conversations and invites clients to show up as their authentic selves in all aspects of our engagement. Humans are complex, and we share our personal stories to create moments of levity and connection. Together, these elements lead organizations toward comprehensive change by marrying the mind and the heart with action.

Continuum of Learning

We are all on a continuum of learning. Each organization, group, or individual comes to DEIA work at a different starting point – with different strengths to celebrate and obstacles to overcome. Each journey is unique, both in the process of integrating operational and programmatic initiatives as well as shifting cultural norms to reflect truly equitable and inclusive policies, practices, and beliefs. Our team meets each client where they are, supporting and challenging them to move through the discomfort of change in the service of collective growth and liberation.

“Momentum reminded us that we needed to be patient with the process, that there aren’t immediate solutions. It’s a lot of learning, culture building, and understanding new concepts. It was hard work. Before Momentum came on board, we didn’t have the tools and language around anti-racism and other DEI concepts. Initially many staff members, particularly leadership, saw DEI work belonging only in HR. Over time I started to see them realizing that the work had to permeate through the entire organization for it to be successful.”
